Hot Stone Massage helps clients release stress,
tension and fatigue. The stones offer penetrating
heat that radiates deep into muscles. The comforting
pressure and weight of the stone creates a wonderful
state of relaxation.
Hot Stone Massage is a geo thermal application using
an oil or cream along with hot stones (or in specific
cases cold as well) to produce the following benefits
for the body:
- Endorphins are released which are likened to pain-killing
chemicals and antidepressants which induce a sense
of well-being
- The thermal aspect of the stones nourishes tense
muscles and joints with increased circulation of blood
and lymphatic drainage
- The compression of the stones on muscles and soft
tissues helps tone them and release tension
- Overburdening the body with stones make the body
and mind create a new perspective. When the stones
are removed, there is a release from fatigue and tension
as the body feels much lighter.
- The diaphoretic value is due to the perspiration
which cleanses the body of waste products
- Cold stones can reduce swelling around eyes or
on sprains, invigorating those who feel fatigued or
exhausted physically or mentally, and decrease pain.
Sinus congestion can be alleviated.
- From an Eastern perspective, it helps to balance
the yin/yang in meridians, sedates the central nervous
system and increases chi or vital energies
